Change/Cancel Policy: Students may cancel or reschedule up to 5 business days (1 week) prior to class for a 25% fee. Within 1 week of class no cancellations or refunds are permitted, but participants can reschedule to a future RITcon Training course for a $150 rescheduling fee per person. Attendee substitutions are permitted at any time prior to class for no fee.

This IICRC Contents Processing Technician (CPT) course is designed to provide an education for technicians in the practice of contents recovery and processing from loss events such as fire, water, mold, and trauma scenes. Specifically, students will learn important inventory, documenting, storage, and pack-back methods for cleaning.

The Content Processing Technician course was a great learning experience. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and shared valuable real-world stories that brought the material to life. I learned a lot about both the technical cleaning processes and the business considerations behind the work.
If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to have a more clearly defined syllabus from the beginning and to include page numbers on the presentation slides so students can track the material more easily in the textbook. Aside from that, the course was excellent and very informative. Chris P.

I recently completed a contents course taught by James and found it to be one of the strongest certification classes I’ve taken. James teaches through real-world stories and job-site examples, which makes the material click—especially for those who haven’t worked in the field yet. Even with the storytelling approach, he still covered all required concepts and procedures in a clear way, so nothing was missed.
I also appreciated the time he spent after class answering practical questions that go beyond the curriculum about how to manage jobs, navigate gray area situations, and handle day-to-day decisions in contents cleaning and pack-outs. His answers were specific, actionable, and grounded in experience. I left the course with a solid grasp of the standards and a much better sense of how to apply them on actual projects. I thought James was very entertaining and I enjoyed all of his real life stories when explaining different cleaning situations. Which I found very relatable. He had no problem staying after class time or during breaks to answer questions. I wish I had even more questions to ask, he is very knowledgeable. Overall I really enjoyed the class. Listening to personal experiences helps me with a better understanding. I would have liked it better if I understood where in the book he was referring to, and going over review questions or letting us know what to read night of. This course was very beneficial in learning the different salvage techniques/equipment/cleaners to use for different damaged items/materials. Though our team primarily works with damaged paper, we learned a lot of valuable information regarding steps to remediate mold and water damage.
