IICRC Contents Processing Technician (CPT) Courses

This IICRC Contents Processing Technician (CPT) course is designed to provide an education for technicians in the practice of contents recovery and processing from loss events such as fire, water, mold, and trauma scenes. Specifically, students will learn important inventory, documenting, storage, and pack-back methods for cleaning.

Topics to be Covered: Health and Safety; Contamination Characteristics; Determination of Total Losses; Estimation and Invoicing; Inventory Methods, Process and Reports; Customer Etiquette and Client Communication; Damage Prevention; Efficient Workflow; Contents Cleaning, Restoration & Deodorization; Crew Responsibilities; Pack-back Procedures

IICRC Exam Fees:  $80.00 for each exam. Retests are $80.00 per exam. These fees are in addition to the registration fee and are paid directly to the IICRC online prior to course start date. Please use this link to register for the exam: https://iicrc.org/livestreamexamregistration

The Content Processing Technician course was a great learning experience. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and... The Content Processing Technician course was a great learning experience. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and shared valuable real-world stories that brought the material to life. I learned a lot about both the technical cleaning processes and the business considerations behind the work. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to have a more clearly defined syllabus from the beginning and to include page numbers on the presentation slides so students can track the material more easily in the textbook. Aside from that, the course was excellent and very informative.

I recently completed a contents course taught by James and found it to be one of the strongest certification classes I’ve... I recently completed a contents course taught by James and found it to be one of the strongest certification classes I’ve taken. James teaches through real-world stories and job-site examples, which makes the material click—especially for those who haven’t worked in the field yet. Even with the storytelling approach, he still covered all required concepts and procedures in a clear way, so nothing was missed. I also appreciated the time he spent after class answering practical questions that go beyond the curriculum about how to manage jobs, navigate gray area situations, and handle day-to-day decisions in contents cleaning and pack-outs. His answers were specific, actionable, and grounded in experience. I left the course with a solid grasp of the standards and a much better sense of how to apply them on actual projects. Overall, highly recommended.

I would also add that he explained a lot of information applicable in how the job is completed with insurance working especially working with adjusters.

James is a very knowledgeable man, and has a lot of love and respect for the profession. With that being said it was felt... James is a very knowledgeable man, and has a lot of love and respect for the profession. With that being said it was felt throughout his course. It had given me a much greater understanding of the contents portion of the restoration world. Wonderful instructor, I would highly recommend for anybody trying to increase their arsenal of wisdom . The Instructor was extremely knowledgeable but also engaging. The material was relevant, on topic and captivating. Even now, I have been in the trade for 10 years, I leaned so much from Rudy and my class mates. Normally with online classes,... Even now, I have been in the trade for 10 years, I leaned so much from Rudy and my class mates. Normally with online classes, it can be dead class, he made us want to be involved. He incurred us to ask questions, let us talk about our experience in the trade. I wish I could take all my classes with him. I would ace them all. He is a fantastic teacher and a person.
