IICRC Continuing Education Credits

IICRC-certified individuals must earn continuing education units (CECs) to maintain their certification. Outlined below is the necessary number of CECs for each level of IICRC professional:

  • IICRC Technicians: Must earn 14.0 CEC hours every four years.
  • IICRC Inspectors: Must earn 14.0 CEC hours every two years.
  • Advanced Certifications: Master Textile Cleaner (MTC), Master Fire and Smoke Restorer (MSR) or Master Water Restorer (MWR) must earn 14.0 CEC hours every two years.

For technicians, every 4 years that you process your renewal fee, IICRC will request proof of completing your 14 hours of continuing education. These IICRC CECs can be earned by re-taking the original course without the exam, or attending a different IICRC certification course, or by taking IICRC approved online continuing education courses like the ones listed below.

The IICRC also requires an annual renewal fee for the individual certifications, the first one due 1 year after passing the exam. A reminder with instructions will be sent out prior to the expiration date to the email and mailing address provided on the IICRC exam form filled out at the end of class. These fees can be paid online on the IICRC website.

The IICRC fees for individuals are:

  • $46/year if individual has 1 or 2 IICRC Technician Certifications
  • $58/year for 3-4 IICRC Certifications
  • $70/year for 5+ IICRC Certifications
  • $72/year for AMRT Certification
