Mold Abatement Worker NY - Spanish is a 2 day course that is taught in Spanish and is required for workers that perform any type of mold abatement work in any capacity and are employed by a licensed mold remediation contractor in NY.
Las regulaciones del estado de Nueva York requieren que los individuos que realizan reducción de molde para ser entrenado como un trabajador del molde reducción del ruido con un programa de formación acreditada. Who should attend this course?
Mold remediation contractors, Mold inspections companies, Environmental consultants, Construction personnel.
Students are required to pass an in-course exam with a minimum score of 70% to earn the certification. Upon successful completion of the course, student will have to submit an application to New York State department of labor licensing unit to obtain a Mold Abatement Worker license.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Participants who wish to receive the NYS Mold Abatement Worker License are required to have a valid NYS ID number, in the form of a drivers license or state ID card.
However, students who do not wish to perform mold work in New York state can request a generic course certificate of completion which can be issued after attending a NY-approved course, with a disclaimer that it is not valid for work in NYS.
This course is in compliance with: NYS DOL Certified License as per Article 32, Section 932 of the New York State Labor Law.
What are the Mold Abatement Qualifications?
An applicant for a Mold Abatement License must:
- Be eighteen (18) years of age or older,
- Satisfactorily complete a
- Mold Remediation Contractor Training Course (Required to obtain Mold Abatement Worker – Supervisor License) from a Department of Labor approved training provider,
- OR Mold Abatement Worker Training Course (Required to obtain Mold Abatement Worker License) from a Department of Labor approved training provider
- Pay the statutorily required application fee of $50
- Introduction to regulations
- Indoor air quality and health effects
- Hazard communication
- Workplace hazards - PPE, Asbestos, Confined Space, etc.
- Mold remediation containment / air filtration.
- Work practices for removing, cleaning, and treating mold.
- Hands - on work area prep

The course about mold was very useful and interesting, as I learned how it forms and where it is most commonly found in the home. Before, I didn’t pay much attention to it, but now I understand that it can affect health, especially by causing allergies and respiratory problems. I liked that the course clearly explained how to prevent it by keeping spaces dry and well ventilated, as well as how to remove it safely without putting people at risk. I believe it is a practical, easy-to-understand course and very necessary, because it provides tools that can be applied in everyday life to maintain a healthier environment. Josayha L.

El curso sobre el moho me pareció muy interesante y útil. Aprendí qué es el moho, cómo se forma y en qué condiciones crece, especialmente en lugares húmedos y con poca ventilación. También entendí los riesgos que puede representar para la salud, como alergias o problemas respiratorios, lo cual me hizo tomar más conciencia sobre la importancia de mantener los espacios limpios y secos.
Una de las partes que más me gustó fue cuando explicaron cómo prevenir y eliminar el moho de manera segura. Las recomendaciones fueron claras y fáciles de aplicar en la vida diaria. Además, el curso estaba bien explicado y organizado, lo que facilitó el aprendizaje.
