Why Should You Take This IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician/Applied Structural Drying (WRT/ASD) Combo Course?
Please Note: This Water Damage Restoration Technician/Applied Structural Drying (WRT/ASD) Combo course allows students to become certified as both a Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) and an Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD). This course must be attended in its entirety and completion of both WRT and ASD exams during that same five (5) day time period. If any portion of the course and exam are not completed during the five (5) day period, the student would be required to re-attend the entire five (5) course to receive both certifications. No portion of the five (5) day course could be applied to either a WRT or ASD course being taught separately.
The Water Damage Restoration Technician course will cover extraction, basic containment, and basic mold procedures, also black water decontamination hands on procedure and initial equipment set up and the basics of drying. This course is designed to teach non-restoration personnel that perform remediation work to give them a better concept of water damage, its effects and techniques for drying of structures. This course will give residential and commercial maintenance personnel the background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows, and contamination such as mold.
*This class includes hands-on experience. Please wear shoes that can get wet.
Topics to be Covered Include:
The Applied Structural Drying courses covers the effective, efficient and timely drying of water-damaged structures and contents, using comprehensive classroom and hands-on training, in order to facilitate appropriate decision-making within a restorative drying environment. Students will experience live hands on use of instruments, extraction systems, drying equipment, and chemistry use in an actual flooded building situation.
IICRC Exam Fees: $65.00 for each exam (total: $130). Retests are $65.00 per exam. These fees are in addition to the registration fee, and are paid directly to IICRC in class. Please be sure attendees have the proper fees available when attending class.
Continuing Education: The IICRC continuing education program seeks to encourage registrants to actively participate in their industry through conventions, workshops and specialized training with continuing education and by sharing knowledge with others in the industry. IICRC-certified cleaning and restoration technicians face many changes in their field and require two credits every four years.
Please Note: Failure to meet continuing education credit requirements will result in suspension of that particular status until the requirement is met and all current course requirements are met.
