This Lead Project Designer Refresher course is for individuals designing lead abatement projects who wish to maintain their current license. 

A Lead Project Designer is a certified individual who after reviewing inspections and all possible methods of abatement, designs a plan to permanently eliminate lead-based paint hazards in a residential dwelling or child-occupied facility. The project designer designs the blueprint for the project and oversees all activities.

This course will review:

  • Role and responsibilities of a project designer.
  • Development and implementation of an occupant protection plan for large-scale abatement projects.
  • Lead-based paint abatement and lead-based paint hazard reduction methods, including restricted practices for large-scale abatement projects.
  • Interior dust abatement/cleanup or lead hazard control and reduction methods for large-scale abatement projects.
  • Clearance standards and testing for large scale abatement projects.
  • Integration of lead-based paint abatement methods with modernization and rehabilitation projects for large scale abatement projects.

 

Who should attend our Lead Project Designer Refresher course?

Anyone wishing to be re-certified in the preparation of:

  • Abatement project designs,
  • Occupant protection plans, and
  • Abatement reports 

 

Please Note:

  • Some states require current lead supervisor or lead supervisor refresher training as a pre-requisite for this course.
  • For EPA-controlled states, EPA requires attendance at a Lead Project Designer Refresher course at least once every three years.
  • Some states mandate Lead Project Designer Refresher training within 24 months of the last course completion; please contact your state regulatory agency to determine your state's requirements.
