Lead Abatement Supervisor Certification Initial Courses
This Lead Abatement Supervisor training provides information on lead-based paint abatement and regulatory guidelines for those individuals that will plan and/or oversee lead abatement work.
A certified Supervisor can perform all of the duties that a Lead Worker can, and additionally a Supervisor is responsible for occupant safety during the abatement process and for writing the abatement plan. The course focuses on essential abatement procedures including site preparation, contract planning, project management, abatement implementation and record-keeping. This workshop prepares you to apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors.

Thank you for the opportunity to attend the Lead Abatement Supervisor course held this week in Tucson. I appreciate the effort involved in coordinating and delivering training that supports the development of qualified lead abatement professionals.
Overall, the course is valuable and addresses an important need within the industry. The subject matter is relevant, and the opportunity to engage with other professionals in the field added meaningful value to the experience.
That said, there are several areas where the course did not fully meet expectations and where improvements would significantly enhance its effectiveness. The organization of the material was challenging to follow, with topics presented in a sequence that made it difficult to build upon prior concepts. At times, the presentation itself was confusing, which limited the ability to clearly connect regulatory requirements, best practices, and practical application.
Additionally, the lack of provided course materials—such as a structured course manual or reference book—was a notable gap. This absence was evident in that the majority of students were observed taking photographs of the presentation slides in order to later reference the material. This practice suggests a clear need for standardized written materials to support the instruction and reinforce learning during and after the course. Providing such materials would greatly improve comprehension, note-taking, and long-term retention of the content, particularly for supervisors who are expected to apply this knowledge in compliance-driven environments.
In summary, while the course content is important and the training serves a critical purpose, improvements in instructional organization, clarity of presentation, and the inclusion of supporting course materials would significantly strengthen the overall quality and effectiveness of the program.

I recently completed a Lead Abatement course, and it was extremely informative and well worth the time. The class did a great job breaking down EPA and state regulations, proper containment procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices in a way that was clear and practical—not just theory.
What I appreciated most was how real-world scenarios were discussed, especially around older homes, occupied spaces, and mixed trades working in the same environment. The hands-on components and clear explanations around documentation, cleanup, and compliance made it easy to understand what’s required in the field.
As someone actively working in construction and restoration, this course reinforced the importance of doing the work correctly, safely, and legally, not just quickly. I walked away feeling confident that I can protect my crew, my clients, and my business while meeting all regulatory requirements.

I definitely learned a lot about lead. the training exercises taught me a few things that I didn't understand as well as Julie breaking it down helping me understand how being exposed to lead is really dangerous. I think this class is a must have situation for it's information. Not knowing the information is putting yourself at risk. Knowledge is key.
