Why should you take this Stormwater Regulations Webinar?

Stormwater discharges from most industrial facilities and construction projects are subject to regulation and must be permitted. During this engaging Stormwater Regulations Webinar, students will gain an understanding of the industrial and construction stormwater regulations that apply to their site, and identify which permits are available for their operations.

The US Environmental Protection Agency's new Stormwater Discharge Permit for industrial facilities—the 2017 Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP)—is now in effect. Companies that were permitted under the 2008 MSGP and need to obtain coverage under the new permit must now submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) that meets the requirements of the new permit.

Industrial and construction permits require that each site implement a site-specific Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), use effective control measures to minimize pollutant discharges, and provide training for employees who implement activities necessary to meet their permit conditions as well as employees who work in areas where industrial materials or construction activities are exposed to stormwater.

With this training, students will think carefully about how the EPA's new Stormwater Discharge Permit applies to their own facilities and how to ensure compliance with all regulations, thus protecting their workers' safety and avoiding fines and other sanctions from the EPA.
