<span style="font-weight: bold;">CESCL</span> (Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead) certification is required in the state of Washington by the Washington State Department of Ecology and in the state of Oregon by the Department of Environmental Quality.  It is required for personnel responsible for construction stormwater inspections and sampling at construction sites.

Great info! Some improvement advice: more class participation. Ask us what we see. The standards are good to put into memory so I would love to have a chance to have a note sheet with important standards.

Excellent class. It wasn't the death by power point that I have come to expect from these certification classes in the past. All of the information was clear, concise, and straight forward and the process that we will need to follow for our new certifications was very well defined. One-on-one instruction was even provided after the class to clear up any last-minute questions that I had before I started my inspection the next day. A+ I highly recommend.

Excellent class! The instructor did a terrific job and made the class very engaging and fun. He also termed everything in a way that very comprehensible and in a way that anybody, even without a stormwater background, can relate and understand. The group activities, the field work and inspection were all beneficial as well.

Much time spent on literal description of the photos & site case studies presented (which in itself was good), but would have liked to see more emphasis on how to prioritize & make changes to existing erosion controls in place to mitigate problems and how to do so most cost-effectively.

Our instructors for this course were for me two of the best I have experienced so far! I come from an extensive background in residential construction. Currently I work as a compliance coordinator. The CESCL class was filled with a voluminous amount of information on erosion control. I felt the instructor was extremely knowledgeable on the subject, and he was able to add humor to the daunting in class experience. However, after the class and field study, I feel as though I have a very good understanding of best practices and will be able to go out into the field on investigations and be a teacher of sorts to those who's understanding on how to set up erosion control may be limited. Finally, I found the class so fascinating that I am continuing my knowledge on the topic with my own research. I am confident that when my current certification expires and I return for a renewal, I will be a much better student. Please give my regards to Nathan.
