- Physical & Chemicals Properties that pose a hazard.
- Toxicology - Know the signs and symptoms of exposure for the hazardous atmospheres encountered in a confined space.
- Uses & limitations of Personnel Protective Equipment.
- General overview of the Confined Space regulations.
- Duties & Responsibilities of the Entrant / Attendant.
- Demonstration of required monitoring, ventilation, & Non Entry rescue equipment.
- Reading & Understanding a Confined Space Permit.
Part 2 - Supervisor/Competent Person Training (4 hours) presents an overview of:
- Recognition of Confined Spaces
- Additional Safety Concerns.
- Monitoring Instrument Calibration & Maintenance.
- Elements of a Confined Space Hazard Assessment Program.
- Confined Space permit.
- Duties & Responsibilities of the Entry Supervisor / Competent Person.
At the end of this class, you will receive a Confined Space certificate of completion. Annual refreshers are required to maintain certification.
- Be able to clearly communicate with the instructor and complete all paperwork in the language the course is delivered. No personal interpreters permitted.
- Complete all required paperwork: registration, evaluation, attendance, etc.
- Attend all required hours of the course. Any make up sessions must be completed within six months from the course start date.
- Participate during class activities and reviews.
- Complete in-course test with a passing grade of 70%.
