Please Note:  The 8-Hour Lead Renovator/Supervisor (RRP) training course is a prerequisite to this 4-Hour Moderate Risk Deleading course.

Why Should You Take This Lead-Safe Renovator - Moderate Risk Deleading Option Course?

This 4-hour Moderate Risk Deleading Option course is designed to supply additional required training for Lead-Safe Renovator-Supervisors who supervise Moderate Risk Deleading Projects. Moderate Risk Deleading Work is defined as the careful removal of certain building components by methods other than demolition, and the repair or making intact of up to two square feet of lead paint per room of an interior, or up to ten square feet of lead paint on the exterior of residences.

The creation of Moderate Risk Deleading Work and this training allows an authorized Lead-Safe Renovator Supervisor to perform this type of work and contribute toward a unit's compliance with the Lead Law. The value of a property owner seeking a Letter of Deleading Compliance is that it provides a property owner with protections from strict liability in the case of a lead-poisoned child. Additionally, there is a tax credit available to the property owner to assist in some of the financial burdens of bringing units into compliance. Lead-Safe Renovation Contractors and Lead-Safe Renovator-Supervisors who wish to bring their skills to bear in performing this type of work and contribute towards Deleading Compliance must take this additional training.

Topics To Be Covered Include:

  • Roles & Responsibilities of a Lead-Safe Renovator Supervisor

The instructor was very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, but admitted himself he was rusty on the material as he doesn't normally teach the course. I left feeling confused about what I need to do paperwork wise when I am doing deleading work.

I left armed with all the info I need to understand the law and plan my project. Scott also provided a ton of additional, essential information about navigating the process that will save me a LOT of time and frustration. He also offered to answer questions by email and this accessibility is great. I already sent two follow up questions and got quick, informative answers. Much appreciated.

LeadSMART Training is different. We're contractors training contractors for EPA certification in Lead-Safe Renovating. We are renovators, remodelers, painters...we've been in the field, on the job and know how important this stuff is to protect yourself, your family, your customers and your business. We've been using these techniques on our own jobs for ten years. We can show you how to work this law on your sites without losing everything you have worked so hard for. A speck of lead dust smaller than your small finger nail can poison a child... your child!

Most recently, LeadSMART has branched out to offer safety solution videos for painters and roofers. These on-demand safety training videos provide practical ways for staying safe while on the job site. Every worker on the site should have at least the very basic safety knowledge that LeadSMART can provide.
