Why Should You Take This Lead Risk Assessor Refresher Course?
Maintain your accreditation as a Lead Risk Assessor by attending this refresher course. Proof of prior completion of Lead Inspector and Lead Risk Assessor training or a current State License must be provided.
A Risk Assessor can perform all of the duties that a Inspector can, including work that falls under the EPA RRP Rule and HUD's Lead-Safe Housing rule. In addition, a Risk Assessor is responsible for identifying all lead-based paint hazards and making recommendations for their treatment, including maintenance and monitoring schedules.
The Refresher Training Will Review:
- Roles and Responsibilities of Risk Assessor
- Visual inspections
- Identifying Potential Sources of Lead-Based Paint Hazards
- Lead Hazard Screen Protocol
- Preparation of Final Risk Assessment Report
- Development of Hazard Control Options
This course is provided by an accredited trainer that is approved by the necessary EPA and/or Authorized-State lead program, as required based on the course location.
It is the participant's responsibility to verify that the course they attend will be accepted in any other state(s) where you will be performing work, and to process any required paperwork that may be necessary.

This was an excellent lead risk assessor refresher course. The instructor, Ms. Louisa DeGarmo, was extremely knowledgeable, and informative. She gave a lively and engaging presentation, with ample time for questions and discussion. The emphasis on sharing actual experiences and problems we encounter was invaluable to me going forward. Flatley-Read also gave me helpful tips on equipment and sources for obtaining the items. The location also met my needs, saving me extended travel time and overnight stays.
