Why Should You Take This Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor Refresher Course?
This Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor refresher training is designed to provide information for those individuals who perform lead-based paint inspections and/or clearance examinations on abatement and renovation projects, and are seeking to renew their lead license. This course satisfies the refresher training requirements for both lead inspectors and risk assessors.
This course will review the legal obligations facing inspectors when inspecting for lead hazards, and individuals will learn to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to regulatory guidelines.

Maintaining Accreditation: Your initial license will be valid for two years in the state of Ohio. To renew a license, all individuals, shall:
- Successfully complete the appropriate Ohio-approved refresher course during the year prior to their license expiration. A lead inspector may take a lead risk assessor refresher course in lieu of a lead inspector refresher course
- Submit a copy of the Ohio-approved refresher course completion certificate, as required
- Submit a complete application specific for renewal, and pay the biennial fee
Note: The Ohio DOH will treat an application for renewal as a first-time application if the applicant's previous Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor permit has been expired for more than two years!
