Why should I attend this workshop?
The Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) has approved continuing education requirements for licensed construction supervisors in the state of Massachusetts. Licensees who renew a license or are issued a first-time license on or after July 1, 2011 shall be expected to fully comply with education requirements following a full two-year cycle. A qualifying Construction Supervisor licensee must provide proof of completion of required hours in the appropriate category in which the licensee is licensed (Restricted, Unrestricted or Specialty).
What if my license has expired? Is there a grace period to renew my CSL?
If a contractor's license has expired or will expire before an individual completes their Continuing Education (CE) hours, they have 1 year to fulfill the CE hours (without having to retake the test), but can't operate with a license until those CE requirements are met. If you have specific questions about your renewal period, please contact the Mass Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) at: (617) 727-3200
How many hours of Continuing Education do I need as a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor? Different licenses require different amounts of Continuing Education:
Does this online anytime package fulfill my 6-Hour Continuing Education requirement for Specialty license holders?
Yes! You will receive a certificate of completion for your continuing education course package that you can send in with your license renewal.
This 6-Hour Continuing Education program fulfills all requirements for the two-year licensing cycle for Specialty Construction Supervisors and covers the necessary core topics: Code Review, Energy, Building Practices, Safety Practices, and Lead Safety.
Through this comprehensive online learning program, participants will review essential skills, practices, and legal requirements that are designed to ensure safe worksite practices and responsible services and business practices. This knowledge will benefit the contractor, as well as their workers, clients, and the greater community and environment.
Following each module of the course, you will be required to complete a short quiz on the section topic. Multiple attempts are permitted if needed to pass the quiz. Upon successful completion of all modules, you will receive a certificate of completion which you can use to report your CSL continuing education hours.
