And this is for good reason, because over 80 percent of the property insurance companies require estimates to be written in Xactimate®. When the contractor and insurance company are both using Xactimate®, they are on the same page. If the contractor is proficient at Xactimate®, this can greatly increase their bottom line. Insurance companies pay to restore the property back to the condition prior to the loss. If the contractor's and adjuster's estimates are both written in Xactimate® and the contractor's estimate is accurate, that is the estimate the insurance company will pay on.

Objectives of this Xactimate® 28 training course include the following:

• Basic utilization of Xactimate®28, including user preference set-up, project setting defaults.
• How to download and exercise Xactware® up-to-date pricing data in order to create competitive estimates.
• The steps required to create an estimate from beginning to end using Xactimate® 28.
• Quickly and efficiently create professional floor plans in Sketch, which provide dimensions and quantities used for estimation.
• A variety of methods to find the correct line items using Xactware® pricing data to quickly add items to an estimate.
• Use Sketch and Estimate Items modules to add items to an estimate.
• Tips and tricks using a wide variety of tools and techniques to help save time when scoping an estimate.
• Increase efficiency by using sketch templates, macros, and retrieving scope.
• How to import digital images to an estimate and provide annotation support.
• Personalize and print a variety of professional estimate and claim reports

Course Prerequisite:  Students of this course should meet the following prerequisites before attending class:

• Basic computer skills
• Using a keyboard and mouse
• Basic typing skills
• Navigating through software application windows
• Understand the Property Loss industry and terminology
• Laptop with Xactimate® 28 installed (purchased or trial software)
• External computer mouse

IMPORTANT: Participants must provide their own computer that meets system requirements. It is recommended that you bring an external mouse. The Xactimate software is required for the course and can be purchased here, or you can download a free 30 day demo trial here. 

 Before you arrive to class : Please verify access to Xactimate or that it is installed and fully functional at least 5 days prior to class. This class is conducted using Xactimate X1 desktop.  Attendees using the online version of Xactimate or Xactimate 28 desktop will notice some differences in screens but are also welcome to attend.

Certificate:  A certificate of completion will be provided to the student at the end of the course verifying that the training was conducted by an Xactimate® Certified Trainer. A completion certificate is different than an Xactimate® user certification.
