WVU Safety & Health Extension was formed out of a need for occupational safety and health training in West Virginia in the late 1980s. Since then, we have focused on working with different businesses and industries to prevent injuries & illnesses and to increase safety & health knowledge in the workplace. Our program contributions in occupational health & safety, public safety & health, technical assistance, and applied research in the areas of construction, general industry, and agricultural safety lead to improvement in the well-being, safety, & quality of life of citizens while saving costs for employers & employees.
