Highland University is designated as a 501(c)(3) , which offered graduate degrees and short-term professional (non-degreed) programs in North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee from 1971 to 1986. In 2012, Highland University established Highland Environmental Institute as a program providing training. We are currently an EPA Certified Lead Safe training provider and a State of TN-Department of Environmental and Conservation Division of Solid Waste Management Toxic Substances Program- Certified Asbestos training provider.

Dwana was a very effective teacher and I am glad she was my instructor. I missed three questions and they were silly mistakes on my part I should have gotten a 100 that is how good she is.

Dwan was awesome and easy to understand. She covered the material very well with great knowledge. She is straight by the book but not to a point it was to much. You don't just pay a fee and show up and your certificate is waiting. Plenty of gear on and hands on set up and break down. I feel very confident with my training.

at times setting in a classroom for 8hrs. tends to get pretty boring but not this one, it was very intense and made it seem that 8hrs wasn't enough time spent.

Ms. Austin is an AWESOME instructor!!! The instructor was well prepared and knowledgeable. The class incorporated multiple training tools. My favorite was the "hands on" skill sets we performed in class. Thank you!

Dwan was the primary instructor. She was very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. She was very familiar with the material and readily answered any and all questions. Everyone learned a great deal and the class was very beneficial.

Dwan Austin is a very good instructor and the hands on portion of the training was well put together. I felt well informed and prepared for renovations with lead issues with the confidence to train my crew the proper techniques when doing lead renovations. I would highly recommend Dwan as an instructor.

Excellent knowledge of subject. Gave great examples. Some material was overkill. The video lost the attention of the class since there was alot of dead time in it of just watching containment being taped the whole way. I would definitely recommend Highland to others.

The instructors where very Knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything.Class size was small which is always a big plus.
