BWI Lead Safety Institute is a Maryland based, locally owned and operated company dedicated to training contractors to follow the EPA's specific guidelines to properly conduct renovations of homes built prior to 1978 with known or suspected lead paint. Their lead renovation class will certify you to work in most states and will give you the knowledge and skills to help prevent you or your company from violating EPA federal guidelines.

Pretty good course. A lot of information covered in 8 hours. Instructor was experienced and able to explain items and processes verbally though we did not have a lot of actual hands on. Very good at explaining the key processes especially containment. The test had a several tricky/poorly worded questions which the instructor was able to explain to make the questions clearer.

Bruce was very friendly, spoke clearly and quickly. I didnt think that I had any trouble understanding him or the things he was teaching until I saw the questions on the test in front of me. I thought by Bruce repeating several import technics or policies that they would be phrased the same way on the test. That was not the case all of the questions were phrased in a completely different manner than how Bruce taught them. One specific question made you think that the answer should have been a yes or no answer yet thet way it was phrased on test it completely confused most of the class. I heard other people bringing it up, and complaining to the the teacher.

I think as a builder himself, the instructor taught the course in a way that the class understood. His use of hands on illustrations and videos kept the presentation from becoming monotonous.

I became certified in 2010, but did not renew it. This class was by far better then my first. The instructor actually had field experience, and could create scenarios, in different applications.
