Corporate Training By Zack Academy - Solar Economics

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Why Should You Take This Solar Economics Course?

This 2-hour Solar Economics course covers the short-term and long-term economics of solar water heating and solar electricity versus conventional energy. Engineers and contractors involved with solar energy systems need to understand the cost-saving and CO2-avoiding potentials of solar energy compared with conventional energies. Conventional energy prices are updated at least twice per year to keep course content current. This course is designed to pair with "Solar Overview", another 2 hour course for engineers and contractors which covers the various kinds of common solar energies.

The Following Topics Will Be Covered:

In this course, you will learn how:

  • Different current electric and natural gas rates used by utilities in southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana affect predictions of solar savings.
  • Solar fares against LP prices.
  • To predict and accurately state customer "paybacks" for solar water heating and electric.
  • To compare the value of saved conventional energy over long-term (i.e. 10, 15, 20 years) in terms of accumulated dollars per saved kWh of electricity, ccf of natural gas, or gallon of LP.
  • Explain sRECs (solar Renewable Energy Certificates), FITs (Feed-in Tariffs).
  • To know what solar incentives are available from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana as well as from utility companies around the greater Cincinnati-area.
  • To determine the possibility of future carbon taxes, comparing C02 emissions per conventional energy units, also per typical heat output from various kinds of heating systems.
