COURSE DESCRIPTION
This NSC Flagger Certification for Massachusetts is in accordance with 701 CMR § 7.07(2). This course will certify Flaggers for work on Commonwealth roadways. In this course, students will learn about personal protective equipment, traffic control, and ways to reduce safety hazards on the job. They will also practice real set-ups through mock flagging exercises and learn the guidelines for flaggers.
Massachusetts Flagger Certifications are valid for two years. To get certified, you need a current First Aid Certification. To renew your flagger certification for another two years, you must take and pass a refresher course on Work Zone Safety and Flagging Operations within one month before your certification expires. There will be an exam with 50 questions at the end of the course that students have to pass with a score of 80% or better.
