This Trauma Scene Management and Restoration course complies with OSHA's employer requirements for Bloodborne Pathogens Training. It also complies with industry guidelines for cleaning up trauma scene waste. In California, this Trauma Scene Management and Restoration course also complies with the California Medical Waste Management Act that governs the generation, handling and disposal of trauma scene waste. The second day of class will include a hands-on training session on cleaning up a trauma scene.

 

Please Note:  Respirators and PPE will be worn during this training. Attendee must bring full face respirator to class. On course completion there will be a written test.

  • Key elements for developing a training section of their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual involving Trauma Scene Management
  • Drafting a contract
  • Pricing and Marketing Your Business
  • Federal OSHA & California OSHA blood borne pathogens regulations
  • California Medical Waste Management Act
  • California Regulations: Learning the basic 
  • Principles in cleaning up blood and other potentially infectious materials
  • Basic principles in managing long-term death scenes
  • Working with police and other agencies
  • Managing fire damaged and teargas contaminated buildings where human blood is present
  • Information on how to register with the State of California as a Trauma Scene Waste Management Practitioner
  • Passing a competency test to receive certificates of completion
