This 14-Hour Florida Contractors Continuing Education Online (Without Wind Mitigation) course satisfies state requirements to maintain certain FL contractor licenses (see list below for eligible licenses). This online course covers important information about area-specific building code, insurance, workplace safety, lien laws, workers compensation and business practices. Students will also receive useful instruction on how to market their contracting business with social media - a skill that's becoming more necessary in today's tech-driven world.

Geared toward self-led learning, this convenient online course gives students up to one year of access to course content. Students can start and stop course modules as needed. Upon successful completion, students will receive their course certificate.

Note: This course is not approved for Florida general, residential, roofing, specialty structure, nor glass and glazing contractors. These contractors must take the 14-Hour FL Contractor Continuing Education Online - With Wind Mitigation course to earn their continuing education credits.

All certified and registered Florida contractors administered under the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB) are required to complete 14 hours of continuing education each two-year renewing cycles.

As part of the 14 hours of continuing education, contractors must complete at least one (1) hour in each of the following areas of study: 

  • Workplace Safety
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Business Practices
  • Laws and Rules
  • Advanced Module Building Code

The remaining required hours are considered "general" and cover topics related to business management.
