COURSE DESCRIPTION

In the Illustrator Bootcamp for Fashion: Level 1 course, students will learn how to draw technical, fashion flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator. This course will also teach students how to digitize their hand-drawn sketches. This beginner course is tailored to design students interested in the fashion industry.

Syllabus
Course Overview: Students will learn Illustrator basics and techniques specific to the fashion industry. Class will focus a larger part of learning the pen tool and using it to draw at sketches. Class will complete 1-2+ sketches (depending on the speed and efficiency of the student), establish a color palette, add color & a stripe pattern to the sketch, and arrange all styles on a quick CAD.

Part 2: Drawing Flat Sketches (Introduction)

  • Drawing flats with multiple pieces/objects
Part 3: Filling sketches with color and pattern
  • Making color swatches
  • Making a pattern swatch
  • Filling your bodies with color

Part 4: Creating a quick CAD
