COURSE DESCRIPTION

Why Should You Take This Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) Certification course?

This Lean Six Sigma Green Belt workshop has been designed for professionals, project leaders and improvement teams aiming to augment their current level of knowledge and expertise with Lean Six Sigma methods, principals, and tools to enable improvement of efficiency, effectiveness and agility of the Business Processes. It is designed to teach the Lean Six Sigma fundamentals and their application through a robust 5-day course.

Our Lean Six Sigma course aligns with the ASQ and IASSC certification requirements and includes all of the tools, techniques and concepts related to Six Sigma. Students are trained and tested on their understanding and ability to apply the tools and techniques of the elements of the Lean Six Sigma methodology. As part of the DMAIC methodology, students are taught how to integrate Lean Six Sigma into an overall approach to process improvement.

 

After taking the Six Sigma Green Belt Training class attendees should be able to:

  • Understand the concepts of Lean Six Sigma and the DMAIC approach to process improvement.
  • Understand Lean Six Sigma variation reduction methodology.
  • Begin to apply the tools in the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases to everyday work problems and execute Green Belt projects.
  • Assist Black Belts in Six Sigma teams and team projects to provide measurable improvement to the enterprise.
  • Become a mentor to others in applying Lean Six Sigma to improve their work environment
  • Understand the use of the tools in characterizing a process, analyzing process data, and controlling a process.
  • Define process metrics and set up measurement systems that enable data-based decision making.
  • Analyze data and present meaningful results to management.

Which Lean Six Sigma Role Do You Most Identify With?

Lean Six Sigma professionals exist at every level – each with a different role to play. While implementations and roles may vary, here is a basic guide to who does what.
The following individuals work on projects and implement improvements:

  • Master Black Belts, identified by Champions, act as in-house coaches on Six Sigma. They devote 100% of their time to Six Sigma. They function at the strategic stage, where they develop key metrics for the teams. They spend their time ensuring consistent application of Six Sigma across various functions and departments.
  • Black Belts operate under Master Black Belts to apply Six Sigma methodology to specific projects. They devote 100% of their valued time to Six Sigma. They primarily focus on Six Sigma project execution and special leadership with special tasks, whereas Champions and Master Black Belts focus on identifying projects/functions for Six Sigma.
  • Green Belts assist with data collection and analysis for Black Belt projects and lead Green Belt projects or teams.
