Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) for Healthcare Construction Courses

This introductory Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) for Healthcare Construction seminar explains the importance of construction-specific infection controls and Best Management Practices for use in healthcare settings.

Construction, renovation and repair activities in hospital and healthcare facilities are likely to create and/or disturb particles, and cause them to become aerosolized. Patients with suppressed immune systems are especially susceptible to developing potentially life-threatening infections if appropriate precautions are not understood.

This course introduces the participant to the ICRA matrix tool and standard risk mitigation recommendations including typical equipment and supplies used on small-scale, short-duration (SSSD) projects. It also emphasizes soft wall barrier controls such as portable containments (Kontrol Kube) and other containment systems such as Zip Wall and Poly-Hanger. Upon completion of the course and in-class exam, each student receives a signed certificate of attendance, photo ID wallet card and hard hat sticker.

Getting educated is always a plus. Learning something new about ICRA and realizing that a little bit of my old biology class, would be helpful to me talking about white and red cells. I would recommend this class.
