This 8-Hour Fall Prevention (SST-307) course is a safety course designed for construction personnel in New York City. This course is required by NYC Local Law 196 and is a prerequisite for some construction and demolition workers, as well as supervisors in order to obtain a Site Safety Training (SST) card.
This course will cover important information on fall hazards in the construction industry as they pertain to New York City, including terms associated with fall hazards and controls. Participants will learn to recognize and avoid fall hazards and prevent fall-related incidents from occurring or causing harm, and learn of roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of various individuals on a construction site. Course curriculum also includes a review of regulatory safety requirements associated with falls and decision-making when working at heights.

This course has no prerequisites. This course is a required course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training (SST) Card. This is an awareness level training, and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction
worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety
training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the
training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or
‘Local Law’). This course provides eight hours towards the satisfaction of that
requirement.

Certificates | Students receive temporary certificates at the end of class. Flagger and Scaffold students will receive photo ID cards by mail in under 2 weeks. OSHA students will receive OSHA cards by mail in approximately 30 days. |
