The 40-Hour Excavator Operator course will teach you how to operate excavators in a safe, effective and efficient manner. The course is designed to prepare students for real-world practical operation, with students spending more than half of the class time operating the equipment. Specifically, students will learn about falling loads, hazardous atmospheres and the basics of excavation. By the end of this course, students will understand how to safely conduct themselves during excavation projects.

DTC's mission is to provide adults with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to add value to their communities, families, and themselves. The Detroit Training Center is dedicated to improving urban education, fostering personal growth, and supporting training and employment initiatives for adults.
