With high-powered machinery, risky heights, and toxic chemicals present on nearly every construction site, it's important for workers to be alert and cognizant whenever they're on the job. However, statistics have shown that many workplace accidents can be attributed to drug and alcohol use. These substances can impair a construction professional's ability to his or her job safely.
