This 10-Hour SST Combo Course includes the 8-Hour Fall Prevention and 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness classes approved by NYC DOB for credit towards the necessary training for the Site Safety Training (SST) card.
The Fall Prevention section of the course provides construction employers and employees with information on recognizing potential fall hazards at their worksites and suggests ways to avoid, minimize, control or prevent the hazards whenever possible.
The Mental Health Awareness portion will address recognizing warning signs in themselves and their coworkers, understanding the importance of seeking help early, reducing workplace stigma surrounding mental health, and contributing to a safer and healthier construction environment.
Este curso combinado SST de 10 horas incluye las clases de «Prevención de caídas» (8 horas) y «Sensibilización sobre la salud mental» (2 horas), aprobadas por el Departamento de Edificación de Nueva York (DOB) para obtener créditos que cuentan para la formación necesaria para obtener la tarjeta de Formación en Seguridad en la Obra (SST).
La sección de «Prevención de caídas» del curso proporciona a los empresarios y trabajadores del sector de la construcción información sobre cómo reconocer los posibles riesgos de caída en sus lugares de trabajo y sugiere formas de evitar, minimizar, controlar o prevenir dichos riesgos siempre que sea posible.
La parte dedicada a la sensibilización sobre salud mental abordará el reconocimiento de señales de alerta en uno mismo y en los compañeros de trabajo, la comprensión de la importancia de buscar ayuda a tiempo, la reducción del estigma en el lugar de trabajo en torno a la salud mental y la contribución a un entorno de construcción más seguro y saludable.
Requisito de la ciudad de Nueva York: Para poder seguir trabajando en la ciudad de Nueva York, el trabajador de la construcción designado debe completar un número mínimo de horas de formación homologada en seguridad en la obra y llevar consigo tarjetas de identificación de seguridad en la obra como prueba de haber completado la formación (de conformidad con la Ley Local 196 de 2017 de la ciudad de Nueva York, también conocida como «LL196» o «Ley Local»). Este curso aporta diez horas para cumplir con dicho requisito.
