Lead Renovator Certification Initial Courses in Idaho
As of April 22, 2010, anyone who performs qualifying renovations, repairs, or painting (RRP) in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA or an EPA-Authorized state.
Do your renovation, repair, or painting projects require compliance with EPA lead-safe regulations? Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $49,722 per violation per day. To get certified, individuals must take this 1-day Lead RRP Training course.
This Lead Renovator Initial Certification (RRP Training) course is 8 hours in length and includes lead safety training approved by the EPA or applicable EPA-Authorized state program. Any contractor performing qualifying work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one Certified Renovator who has successfully completed this training. Companies must also process an application to become a Lead Safe Certified Firm. The course concludes with a certification exam.
Need to renew your RRP Lead Certification? Register for the 4-hour refresher course and renew before your training certificate expiration date.
Since the full 8-hour RRP training course cannot be completed fully online, our training network offers in-person classes across the US for your convenience. I need to get my EPA lead renovator certification. What exactly do I need to do? Zack Academy's lead renovator certification initial training covers all required curriculum topics, and upon completion students receive their renovator certificate, enabling them to perform renovation, repair, or painting work on pre-1978 properties.

Great course with a great instructor. I have taken this course in the past but needed to recertify. I came out of this session more prepared than I was before. Class size allowed for more questions and a better hands-on experience. Course instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and gave great followable instruction especially during the required hands-on portion of the course. DAVID G.

I recently completed the Lead Renovator Certification Initial course with Scott as my instructor, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Scott clearly knows this material inside and out, and he presented it in a way that was easy to follow and actually stuck with me.
He did a great job explaining the dangers of lead poisoning, who is most at risk, and why lead-safe work practices matter so much, especially in older homes with children and families. The safety portion was thorough and practical, and his walkthrough of containment basics gave me a clear understanding of how to set up a work area, control dust, and keep both workers and occupants protected.
Scott kept the class engaging, answered every question patiently, and made sure everyone was confident before moving on. I left feeling fully prepared to earn my Lead Renovator Certificate and to put what I learned to work on the job. I’d highly recommend Scott to anyone who needs this certification. Ivan P.
