Lead Inspector Certification Initial Courses
This Lead Inspector Initial training provides information for individuals who perform lead-based paint inspections and/or clearance examinations on abatement and renovation projects. This course will teach the legal obligations facing inspectors when inspecting for lead hazards, and individuals will learn to determine whether or not lead-based paint or other lead hazards are present in sufficient quantities to require abatement according to regulatory guidelines. This workshop prepares you to apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors.

The instructor knows his stuff inside-out but the course info for a complete beginner is too much for just 3 days incl a test. Definitely needs a longer course. A separate course for those retaking the EPA test would benefit true beginners. Helen P.

The instructors both did a solid job teaching & answering questions, while the day 3 instructor also did a phenomenal job summarizing & consolidating all of the dense information.
My criticism lies with the course material provided by your school.
While the softcover book provided is a good reference book for the EPA exam, it was borderline useless for the 3-day course. The day 1 & 2 instructor was jumping around, teaching from his files on a laptop, instead of the dense book.
In addition to the supplied softcover, useful for the EPA exam, would suggest that you provide a full binded outline of the course material on day 1. This way, students can follow the densely packed material more easily & take minimal notes & notations on the margins, as neccessary. Also, the class will probably als flow more smoothly, with less questions, since there would be less confusion Joshua R.

I was lucky enough to have Keith as an instructor. He used his knowledge of the subject and his wittiness to make the course a great learning experience.

Joann is VERY knowledgeable, and she absolutely wants everyone to succeed. Joann is available for discussion and questions and is very focused on teaching the correct verbiage - which is crucial for proper communication anywhere especially when filling in "government" docs for scrutiny. This is important.
Although not everyone learns the same, some of us are a bit more difficult to grasp information and certain concepts, as well, instructors have differing styles of communication. So, a bit more attention to detail and patience in presentation would be helpful for a person like me. Overall, the class was a good class, Joann created an environment for fostering classroom interaction which is very good for learning. It was a good experience. Thank you Thomas P.

I had two instructors (Liam: days 1 - 2 ; Ganesh: day 3). They both had plenty of experience and knowledge on the topic and did a good job of teaching the class about lead paint inspection. Overall, I felt Ganesh did a better job of teaching of the material but both instructors were good. Gary H.
