16-Hour Limited Gas Work Qualification - NYC DOB Courses

The 16-Hour Limited Gas Work Qualification course is required for all workers in NYC who will be working on gas piping for a licensed plumber in a limited capacity. Upon course completion, the students will be able to perform gas testing, recognize hazards and implement safety methods. After completing this course, a certificate verifying the training must be submitted by the student to the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) licensing division.

Topics to be covered: Introduction to gas piping and testing; Gas Leak Detection; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); Emergency response procedures; NYC Building Code, Fuel Gas Code, Mechanical Code and Fire Code; Hazards; Technology; and Violations.
