This IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) course covers mold and sewage remediation techniques to individuals engaged in property management, property restoration, IEQ (Indoor Environmental Quality) investigations or other related professions. Emphasis will be placed on teaching mold and sewage remediation techniques to individuals who will perform these procedures in the field. Course graduates will be adequately equipped to perform remediation services while protecting the health and safety of workers and occupants.

The instructor was very experienced and was able to share many personal experiences of restoration, which was very helpful. I did not find the study materials and the presentation very helpful in that they did not align very well. Many of the students, including myself were scrambling to find where in the book the materials shown on the slides were located. In my opinion, the book materials were too "wordy" without section headings, section tabs, bolds, highlights, paragraphs, text size variation, etc.
I also felt doing the test with bubble sheets is outdated. Why couldn't we have the option of taking the test online to get faster results.
Overall the content of the course was good and I learned what I needed to, but having taken a course recently with one of your competitors, I felt their materials were more conducive to studying and retaining material. Justin K.

The class was engaging, with a good balance of in-depth instruction and hands-on tasks that made the material easier to understand. Although I am new to the industry, there were several people in the class that had been in the industry for many years and the instructor shared things with the class that they had never heard or done. Mark was awesome. He was very informative, and the hands on portion was amazing. I learned so much, and Mark answered all our questions to the utmost extent. One of the best learning parts was going over the video with Mike Rowe, and not only hearing what we see that was incorrect, but hearing what he sees, and what he would do instead. I enjoyed the course. The instructor was very knowledgable and I learned a ton. My only issue that that he admitted to having the scantron test pattern memorized and would grade the test in real time. I observed him on multiple occasions instruct students to change an answer or two that were incorrect when they turned them in. He bragged on having a 97% pass rate and I was excited to hear this, until I saw one of the ways he accomplished this. He is a great instructor, so this isn't necessary. I value the integrity of our industry, and if someone can't pass the exam then they need to study and retake the test. That is the only way we as an industry can maintain our status as experts in Mold Restorers. Beyond this the course and the instructor were great. Tracy B.
