NOTICE: Seagull Environmental is in the process of moving - until our new training facility is complete in Spring of 2021, students are asked to meet at 8:30am at USA GROCERS at 2349 NW 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. At this location, after secure parking, a transport vehicle will transport you to Seagull's temporary training location where parking is unavailable, only three blocks away. In return for the inconvenience, Seagull will buy your lunch from a selection of four local restaurants. In addition, for those that choose, COVID-19 testing will be available for free while at class, everyday except Thursdays.
The transport vehicle is equipped with dual air sanitizing devices with HEPA, charcoal and electrostatic filters. Masks and hand sanitizers are required and provided. The original vehicle sat 18, but has been reduced to 4 for social distancing. The vehicle is sprayed with sanitizer after each use.
The temporary training location has all the amenities needed to provide you with quality training, plus unlimited coffee, soda, and snacks.
This Asbestos Transite Worker Refresher course reviews key information on limited Class II OSHA work where workers remove transite pipe, otherwise known as asbestos cement pipe, or paneling that may contain asbestos. This refresher training is an annual requirement for Asbestos Transite Workers to maintain their license.
NOTE: This refresher course is for Class II work only. For Class I removal work, please view the Asbestos Worker Refresher course.
Per OSHA, Class II asbestos work covers activities that involve the removal of asbestos containing materials not found in the thermal system insulation or surfacing material. Examples of this are the removal of asbestos-containing wallboard and paneling, floor tiles and sheeting, roofing and shingles, and construction mastics. Class II work must be supervised by a qualified Competent Person.
This asbestos refresher training course revisits topics covered in the initial training such as best work practices, job site safety, and federal and state regulations.
Topics to be Covered
Note: This course is a refresher course. Students must have already completed the Asbestos Transite Worker initial training in order to attend this course. This course is an annual requirement; in order to maintain compliance, students must complete this course annually.
