NOTICE: Seagull Environmental is in the process of moving - until our new training facility is complete towards the later part of 2022, students are asked to meet at 8:30am at USA GROCERS at 2349 NW 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. At this location, after secure parking, a transport vehicle will transport you to Seagull's temporary training location where parking is unavailable, only three blocks away. In return for the inconvenience, Seagull will buy your lunch from a selection of four local restaurants. In addition, for those that choose, COVID-19 testing will be available for free while at class, everyday except Thursdays.
The transport vehicle is equipped with dual air sanitizing devices with HEPA, charcoal and electrostatic filters. Masks and hand sanitizers are required and provided. The original vehicle sat 18, but has been reduced to 4 for social distancing. The vehicle is sprayed with sanitizer after each use.
The temporary training location has all the amenities needed to provide you with quality training, plus unlimited coffee, soda, and snacks.
Why Should You Take This Asbestos Roofer Worker Refresher Course?
This half-day Asbestos Roofer Worker refresher course is designed for individuals who perform the removal of asbestos roofing materials after the competent person on the project inspects a roof to determine whether or not asbestos containing roofing materials are present.
This Course Contains A Review Of Topics Covered In The Initial Training:
- Physical characteristics of asbestos
- Potential health effects related to asbestos exposure
- Respiratory protection and medical surveillance
- Work practices for roof removal
- Other safety and health hazards
- Overview of relevant federal and state regulations
- Hands-on roof removal techniques
This Course Will Also Include:
- Update on regulatory developments
- Current techniques for asbestos roof removal
- Update on safety and health issues
Course Exams: Students are evaluated upon course completion with a multiple-choice exam and must achieve a passing score of 70% in order to receive a course certificate. Oral exams may be requested for this course.
Please Note: Refresher training must be completed annually in order to maintain accreditation.
IMPORTANT: You are required to bring your most current training certificate with you to the refresher course!
