This Asbestos Management Planner training course accredits individuals to be the AHERA Dedicated Person to assess an asbestos hazard and recommend appropriate response actions. This training is for those responsible for facility mitigation activities, including management of data associated with asbestos work, response action planning, scheduling and administration. The Management Planner also coordinates any activities of an asbestos operations and maintenance program. Individuals must have completed the Asbestos Building Inspector training before taking the Management Planner course.
Training for asbestos abatement professionals is required under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986 (AHERA), which is the authority under which EPA issued the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan. This course has been granted full approval by the EPA and various States to meet AHERA and ASHARA accreditation requirements for asbestos work in K-12 schools, as well as in public and commercial buildings.
A Management Planner must possess a valid Management Planner certificate and must have their certificate or a copy of their certificate with them at all times while working on the project. This workshop prepares you to immediately apply your knowledge to the field, with extensive hands-on training and real-world examples from experienced instructors. It combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on demonstrations.

Please Note: Your state has detailed education, experience and application processing requirements to qualify for licensing in the Asbestos field. Most states administer their own asbestos programs, and each state's Department of Environmental Protection/Health is generally the best place to start with questions about requirements and training. Students are responsible to verify these requirements prior to registering for a course.

|Accrediting Body||If an individual has acquired AHERA/EPA accredited certification in these disciplines from another US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) authorized state, you are qualified to do this type of work in Georgia. Proof of these certifications must be made available upon request.|
|Individual App Requirements||Georgia has no regulations that require state certification for these disciplines. |Individual Exam And Fees||No 3rd-Party Exam|
|Company Application Requirements||$100 initial and $100 for every additional worker; payment is annual|
|Refresher Training||Certificates (hard cards) are valid for one year. Failure to take refresher training within two years from expiration date = start over! Refresher training is a half day, 4 hour course.|
|Reciprocity||Any person requesting licensing by reciprocity shall complete and submit an approved application form, together with a copy of the applicant's valid license or certificate or equivalent issued by another State, territory or possession of the United States. Reciprocity privileges are granted to contractors or asbestos foremen holding valid licenses or certificates from outside the State of only when the standards of such licenses are not less than those in Georgia, and reciprocity privileges are granted to licensed contractors of Georgia.|
