Comply with OSHA's new final rule on silica to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica. In this Silica Exposure course, students will learn the industry standard methods for protecting themselves against respirable silica by using dust control or vacuum systems.
The OSHA reduced the permissible exposure limit (PEL) to 50 micrograms per cubic meter of air, and now requires employers to use engineering controls to limit worker exposure, or provide respirators; develop a written exposure control plan, offer medical exams to highly exposed workers, and train workers on silica risks and how to limit exposures.
This training will cover applicable rules and regulations, what silica is, the health effects of silica, silica exposure prevention, PELs of silica, and creating a control plan.
