Introduction to Sustainable Sites Webinar Courses

This is a 1-hour introductory webinar providing an overview of sustainable sites initiatives. It will discuss the importance of choosing an appropriate site location and development style. In terms of site location, the lecture will place an emphasis on minimizing sprawl, protecting virgin land, and encouraging alternative transportation. With regards to development style, the lecture will place an emphasis on erosion and sedimentation control, restoring habitat, practicing storm water management, and reducing light pollution and the urban heat island effect.

I found the Sustainable Site webinar to be a good follow up to the Intro to Green Roofs Seminar I had a day earlier. Again... I found the Sustainable Site webinar to be a good follow up to the Intro to Green Roofs Seminar I had a day earlier. Again Lisa did a wonderful in presenting the material along with excellent graphics and precedent studies. She did a great job explaining the importance of choosing an appropriate site location and development style, as well as minimizing sprawl/protecting virgin land and heat island effects...all which make up the sustainable site credits.
