Why Should You Take This Lead Supervisor/Inspector/Risk Assessor Continuing Education Course?

Your California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Supervisor or Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor license must be renewed every year. Maintain your certification by completing at least 7 hours of CDPH-approved lead-related construction Continuing Education every two years. Additionally, any one Continuing Education class can only be used for a maximum of two renewals. You should complete your Continuing Education before applying to CDPH for renewal.

Please Note:  This renewal course can be used for Supervisors, Workers, Inspectors, Risk Assessors, and Sampling Technicians

Renewal Deadlines:  You must apply to CDPH for renewal at least 120 calendar days before your certificate expires. If you do not apply in time, your certificate may expire before CDPH can renew it. There are no extensions and CDPH can not expedite processing any renewals. Please take this into consideration when scheduling your Continuing Education.

Renewing an Expired Certificate:  If it has been less than 3 years since your certificate expired, you may renew it by completing 7 contact hours of CDPH-approved Continuing Education and sending CDPH a renewal application with the correct fee(s). When you renew an expired certificate, you will receive a new expiration date. Expiration dates are now based on your birth date. Your certificate ID number will stay the same. Remember, you may not do work requiring CDPH certification if your certificate has expired.

Renewing Early:  CDPH encourages you to apply for renewal at least 120 days before your certificate expires. This will ensure that your certificate is renewed before it expires. You will not lose time on your certificate by applying early for renewal. Each time you renew your certificate, CDPH adds 1 full year to the certificate's expiration. If you wait until your certificate expires, you will not gain any additional time.

Renewing of Interim Certifications:  If you have an expired Inspector/Assessor, Supervisor, Project Monitor and/or Project Designer interim certificate, you will have to take the original training over again, and pass the appropriate California Lead Certification Exam(s) before your certificate(s) can be renewed.

You should complete your Continuing Education before applying to CDPH for renewal, so sign up for your Continuing Education course today!

Course Completion Documentation - A CDPH Course Completion Form and a certificate documenting attendance of the Lead Supervisor, Inspector/Risk Assessors course is awarded if you attend and pass the written examination. Full attendance is mandatory.

ABOUT THE TRAINING PROVIDER
instructor logo

FACS Training (formerly HMS, a division of Forensic Analytical Consulting Services) has helped construction managers, building owners, facilities managers, architects, contractors and consultants handle hazardous materials safely AND legally (two different issues) since 1984. Our instructors are active consultants, contractors, or EH&S personnel, most with more than 25 years of hazardous materials experience Many have been actively involved in developing the original curriculum for UC Berkeley’s highly respected asbestos and lead training program in the late 1980s, and in revising and generating local, state, and federal environmental regulations during the past four decades. Our classes use interactive teaching techniques and emphasize applying up-to-date knowledge and research (about health effects, regulatory and legal trends, and best industrial practices) to actual situations our students face. In every class, genuine case studies and discussion of participants’ on-the-job experiences help you develop practical responses to real-world problems and avoid costly mistakes.
