Please Note:  This course is a continuing education offering for qualified Lead Renovators who have previously received 8-hours of continuing education from the RRP course, and who need four (4) additional hours to renew their Construction Supervisor License (CSL) in the state of Massachusetts.

Why should I attend this workshop?

The Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) has approved continuing education requirements for licensed construction supervisors in the state of Massachusetts. Licensees who renew a license or are issued a first-time license on or after July 1, 2011 shall be expected to fully comply with education requirements following a full two-year cycle. A qualifying Construction Supervisor licensee must provide proof of completion of required hours in the appropriate category in which the licensee is licensed (Restricted, Unrestricted or Specialty).

What if my license has expired? Is there a grace period to renew my CSL?

If a contractor's license has expired or will expire before an individual completes their Continuing Education (CE) hours, they have 1 year to fulfill the CE hours (without having to retake the test), but can't operate with a license until those CE requirements are met. If you have specific questions about your renewal period, please contact the Mass Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) at:  (617) 727-3200

How many hours of Continuing Education do I need as a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor? Different licenses require different amounts of Continuing Education:

  • Unrestricted Licensees Need 12 Hours Every Two (2) Years
  • Restricted Licensees Need 10 Hours Every Two (2) Years
  • Specialty Contractors (Masonry, Roofing, Windows/Siding, Demolition, Insulation) Need Six (6) Hours Every Two (2) Years

What classes do you offer for your 4-Hour MA Construction Supervisor License (CSL) Continuing Education Package?  The 4-Hour Package consists of two, 2-hour sessions that fulfill the necessary requirements to renew your Mass CSL for qualified Lead Renovators who have previously received 8-hours of continuing education from the RRP course. (Please see the syllabus for more details on each individual session):

LeadSMART Training is different. We're contractors training contractors for EPA certification in Lead-Safe Renovating. We are renovators, remodelers, painters...we've been in the field, on the job and know how important this stuff is to protect yourself, your family, your customers and your business. We've been using these techniques on our own jobs for ten years. We can show you how to work this law on your sites without losing everything you have worked so hard for. A speck of lead dust smaller than your small finger nail can poison a child... your child!

Most recently, LeadSMART has branched out to offer safety solution videos for painters and roofers. These on-demand safety training videos provide practical ways for staying safe while on the job site. Every worker on the site should have at least the very basic safety knowledge that LeadSMART can provide.
