Why should I attend this workshop?

The Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) has approved continuing education requirements for licensed construction supervisors in the state of Massachusetts. Licensees who renew a license or are issued a first-time license on or after July 1, 2011 shall be expected to fully comply with education requirements following a full two-year cycle. A qualifying Construction Supervisor licensee must provide proof of completion of required hours in the appropriate category in which the licensee is licensed (Restricted, Unrestricted or Specialty).

What if my license has expired? Is there a grace period to renew my CSL?

If a contractor's license has expired or will expire before an individual completes their Continuing Education (CE) hours, they have 1 year to fulfill the CE hours (without having to retake the test), but can't operate with a license until those CE requirements are met. If you have specific questions about your renewal period, please contact the Mass Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) at:  (617) 727-3200

How many hours of Continuing Education do I need as a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor? Different licenses require different amounts of Continuing Education:

  • Unrestricted Licensees Need 12 Hours Every Two (2) Years
  • Restricted Licensees Need 10 Hours Every Two (2) Years
  • Specialty Contractors (Masonry, Roofing, Windows/Siding, Demolition, Insulation) Need Six (6) Hours Every Two (2) Years

Does this online anytime package fulfill my 12-Hour Continuing Education requirement for Unrestricted license holders?

Yes! You will receive a certificate of completion for your continuing education course package that you can send in with your license renewal.

What classes do you offer for your MA Construction Supervisor License (CSL) Continuing Education Package?

This 12-Hour Continuing Education program is made up of the 6-Hour MA CSL Core Competency course (CS-012301) and the 6-Hour Green Building & LEED Fundamentals course (CS-012300).

It fulfills all requirements for the two-year licensing cycle for Unrestricted Construction Supervisors. This Online Anytime package fulfills the necessary requirements for Code Review, Energy, Building Practices, Safety Practices, and Lead Safety.

Each chapter in the course has a short multiple-choice quiz at the end. Passing each quiz moves you onto the next chapter. If needed, multiple attempts on the quiz are permitted. Once you achieve 70% or greater on the quiz, you will move on to the next chapter.
