This 60-Hour Michigan Builders Prelicense course prepares you to pass both parts of the State exam while learning valuable tools and strategies for your business. This is a state-approved program.
This course covers all seven disciplines (42 hours of instruction) in addition to electives (18 hours of instruction) to fulfill the 60 hour State requirement. You will receive the application forms and information needed regarding the Residential Builders exam. The program registration also includes 9 books, including the residential code book.
Steps to Obtain Your Michigan Builders License:
Step 1: Complete an approved 60-Hour Builders Prelicense Course and receive Certificates of Completion.
Step 2: Send your license application, Certificates of Completion and fee to the State of Michigan for approval. This usually takes 2-4 weeks.
Step 3: Register with PSI Exams for the State Exam ($111) and pass! You will schedule the exam at one of their local testing facilities. The exam is closed book, and there are two parts to the test:
Part 1: Business/Law, 50 questions, you have 75 minutes and must get 36 correct.
Part 2: Trades/Practices, 100 questions, you have 150 minutes and must get 73 correct.
