Why Should You Take This IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) Course?

The Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course is designed to teach restoration personnel that perform remediation work to give them a better concept of water damage, its effects and techniques for drying of structures. This course will give residential and commercial maintenance personnel the background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows, and contamination such as mold.

 

Topics to be Covered Include:

  • General Discussion covers Principles of Drying, Categories and Classes.
  • Equipment, Supplies, Chemicals
  • Microorganisms, Health and Safety
  • Drying Science
  • Effect of Water on Materials
  • Inspections
  • Procedures: Sanitary Water Source
  • Procedures: Unsanitary Water

 

Intended Audience:  Restoration & remediation companies, contractors, universities, large organizations, facility managers, water damage technicians, carpet cleaning companies, BOMA members, home & building inspectors, and anyone that deals with water damage.


IICRC Exam Fees:  $80.00 for each exam. Retests are $80.00 per exam. These fees are in addition to the registration fee and are paid directly to the IICRC online prior to course start date. Please use this link to register for the exam: https://iicrc.org/livestreamexamregistration


Continuing Education:  The IICRC continuing education program seeks to encourage registrants to actively participate in their industry through conventions, workshops and specialized training with continuing education and by sharing knowledge with others in the industry.

 

INSPECTORS:  Due to rapid changes in fiber, yarn, dye, manufacturing, finishing and related technologies, IICRC-certified inspectors must attain 14.0 CE credit hours every two years.

CLEANING/RESTORATION TECHNICIANS:  IICRC-certified cleaning and restoration technicians face many changes in their field and require 14.0 CE credit hours every four years.

ADVANCED DESIGNATIONS:  Those registrants achieving the advanced designations of Master Textile Cleaner (MTC), Master Fire and Smoke Restorer (MSR) or Master Water Restorer (MWR) will be required to attain 14.0 CE credit hours every two years.

**Failure to meet continuing education credit requirements will result in suspension of that particular status until the requirement is met and all current course requirements are met.

 

Please Note: Those who have already taken this course can take the first 2 days of the course again for 14.0 CE credit hours. With this option, students are not required to take the test or attend the third and final day of class.

Larry did a great job he took time to teach us things that were not on the exam but the things we would encounter in the... Larry did a great job he took time to teach us things that were not on the exam but the things we would encounter in the field. However I feel as if it is a lot of information for someone to take in at one time I have taken this class twice now and at the end I still felt a little confused and I wish we had just a little more time for him to explain

The professor, Larry Fried, did an excellent job in making the course as entertaining as possible, all while doing a good... I would reccommend the Larry to anyone, and if every professor is like him I would reccommend the class to everyone I know.
