I attended the class because, as an insurance adjuster, I wanted to know what mitigation and restoration contractors are learning from the IICRC about how to handle fire losses...there is so much diversity of thought in approach and costing, and all the contractors say "that's the standard", "the IICRC requires it" or "that's how all fire losses are handled". I learned that when one takes into consideration the current laws (OSHA Regulations) regarding protecting workers, and the ultimate requirement of the need to indemnify the insured, and uses common sense in applying the tools and methods available, there is a reasonable middle ground that should be acceptable to all parties. I feel more confident in my ability to stand up to over-scoping and overbilling when I encounter them. It was also very interesting to spend a few days with young mitigation contractors and to learn their perspectives and hear some of their opinions and questions.. It was money and time well spent!

Excellent class and a great instructor, I’m not the type of person that can just review a book and a few PowerPoint slides and say “yep I know everything now” our instructor was extremely well experienced and there were great hands-on training. He answered questions well and was able to explain show and teach the materials in a way that everyone in the class could understand. I’m planning on taking more class with the same instructor.
