Be prepared for your California Asbestos Consultant (CAC) or Asbestos Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) state exams! This California CSST/CAC State Exam Prep class provides review of the pertinent components of the AHERA training courses (Contractor/Supervisor, Building Inspector, Management Planner, & Project Designer) and includes the study of other important regulations: NESHAP, Ban and Phase Out Rule, T8 CCR 1529, T8 CCR 5144, & Business & Professions Code 7180 to 7189.7.

Prerequisites:

For CSST: Contractor/Supervisor & Building Inspector Training
For CAC: Same as above, plus Management Planner & Project Designer Training

You must submit your completed application and attachments to the Division of Occupational Safety and Health Asbestos Consultant Certification Unit in Sacramento, CA prior to taking the exam.

A California Asbestos Consultant (CAC) is any person who contracts to provide professional health and safety services relating to asbestos containing construction material, which comprises 100 square feet or more of surface area, as defined in Title 8 California Code of Regulations 1529. The activities of an Asbestos Consultant include building inspection, abatement project design, contract administration, sample collection, preparation of asbestos management plans, clearance monitoring, and supervision of Site Surveillance Technicians.

A California Asbestos Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) is any person who acts as an independent on-site representative of an Asbestos Consultant. The Site Surveillance Technician monitors the asbestos abatement activities of others, provides asbestos air monitoring services for area and personal samples, and performs building surveys and contract administration at the direction of an Asbestos Consultant.
